SmashTastic Me

IMG_2483Umm, wow. It’s been 3 years since I’ve updated my “about me” section. I feel like I may be approaching the age where I’m not supposed to share my age. Oh well, here it goes, I’m 27. In a couple weeks I’ll be living in Nashville, TN, so I guess that’s where I am. I grew up in CA, did some growing up in AZ and ID too.

I have type 1 diabetes and Crohn’s disease. From time to time I’ll stay on topic enough to discuss my life with diabetes and Crohn’s, VERY time to time. When I do, it’s my personal experience, not medical advice. For medical advice a visit to your medical care provider may be the best plan of action. I’ve had diabetes for 9 years and am still not an expert. I’ve had Crohn’s for almost 3 years and I’m so far from an expert it’s not even funny.

I’m fairly good at staying on topic when it comes to my dog, Moyer. He’s my best buddy. He spent two years of his life coming to work with me almost every day, now he has to stay home. It’s an adjustment, but we’re working it out. He still loves me.

Long, long ago I was great at being on MySpace (yep, I’m that old), Facebook, Twitter any my blog. And it was just that, long, long ago. But I’m trying.

I’m an outgoing introvert. Computers and cell phones hate me. I love people watching. I embarrass myself often. Rambling and wordsmithery are two of my greatest skills. I’ve almost died a few times. Type 1 diabetes doesn’t ever take a vacation, so it’s a huge part of my life. Crohn’s DOES take vacations, but it’s always threatening its return. I love sports, but am too competitive to pay too much attention to them anymore. Life is an adventure and randomness is a gift.

I write for The Gutsy Generation blog and saw that you had written a response to my post about people asking how you are. I hope you are doing well, and that you are feeling much better. I’ve had Crohn’s for 7 years and just had surgery this past summer. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to be of help!

    Take care,
